Hummus & Pita Chips

Cook-Along Video Lesson

Gather your ingredients and kitchen tools, then cook with me in real time, and enjoy a delicious meal by the end of our class.

1. Get your ingredients

  • 1 lemon

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 1 (15.5-oz) can chickpeas

  • ½C tahini (sesame seed butter)

  • ½t cumin

  • 1 package pita bread

  • 3T olive oil

  • Ice water

  • Diamond Crystal kosher salt (see video below)

2. Gather your equipment

  • Small bowl for scraps

  • Medium bowl for pita chips

  • Cutting board

  • Small knife

  • Can opener

  • Measuring spoons

  • Measuring cups

  • Colander

  • Microplane (or fine grater garlic press)

  • Citrus juicer

  • Clean kitchen towel

  • Food processor, blender, or immersion blender

  • 2-cup container (if using immersion blender)

  • Clean scissors

  • Sheet pan

  • Foil or parchment paper
