1. Get your ingredients
1½C (8 oz) masa harina (pre-treated corn flour for tortillas)
See below for the brands I like.1T neutral oil, plus more for cooking
salt
1 15-oz can black beans
1C shredded cheese (could be mozzarella, jack, or any sort of plant-based cheese)
This is my favorite plant-based melting cheese at the moment
2. Gather your equipment
large bowl for making dough
medium bowl for filling
small bowl for scraps
measuring cups
measuring spoons
10” or 12” nonstick or stainless skillet
flat, rigid spatula
clean kitchen towel
2 dinner plates
